Tino Berlino
Born on 5th October 1968 in Berlin
He's an actor, a director, a
comedian, a variety artist, a mime artist, a clown, a minstrel, an acrobat,
with television, theatrical and cinema experiences. He succeeds in all these
different roles thanks to his love and devotion to his work.
He is a child of art: his father is a well known clown and his mother is an
acrobat. The first of five children, he was brought up among the caravans in
a multiethnic environment where different cultures, traditions and religions
mingle creating the magic of the most captivating performance of them all: the
CIRCUS. This experience enables Tino to mature the belief that "united
we stand, divided we fall" even when of different origins and political
and religious beliefs.
Up to the age of 12 he spent his childhood in Europe,
moving around Germany, Switzerland, France, Spain and England.
He then went to live in Rome and attended the “De Amicis” Odontotechnic
Professional Institute. After having graduated, the artistic vein which had
always characterised him drove him to start personal research in the performing
field.
In 1990 he approached the world of drama and theatre at the
ex Catacombe Theatre 2000 (now called Teatro D'Oggi) with the prose teacher
Franco Venturini.
Financial difficulties didn't allow him to pay for diction, recitation and drama
lessons and so he co-operated with the theatre as a mask, cashier and a cleaner.
After a year of co-operation, Tino rented a space in the theatre in which he
worked and promoted his artistic production. Later, he worked with some of the
greatest Italian performing experts such as Tata di Ovada (for what concerns
clowning art and street theatre), Marco Leandris (heir to the Italian revue,
back shoulder of Walter Chiari and Alberto Sordi, and also, great illusionist)
for the variety show, and Stefano dei Baldanzoni from Bologna for the cabaret
and improvisation theatre.
In 1997 he created the EXPO TEATRO CAMELOT, a company that unites theatre
and circus. Directed by him the group, which is eclectic and varied,
takes part in national and international festivals of street and avanguarde
theatre, and also of cinema and cabaret productions. The company has always
met great favour among the public and this has been their major source of inspiration
and improvement.
In 1999 he started his experience as a lecturer at the Performing Arts
University of Rome.
The following year his company "I Camelot" is founded as well as his
"Actor Waiters- I Camelot Show". This will soon become his show-piece.
The show is presented in the most chic receptions of the capital city and is
adapted to an international public.
In 2002 he participated in the film "Pinocchio" of Roberto Benigni,
giving his contribution in the creation of the wonderful scenario of the Paese
dei Balocchi.
In 2004 he produced, in co-operation with his master Franco Venturini, the film
"Alla tua età credi ancora all'amore" ("Do you still believe
in love?") which is in competition for the Berlin 2005 Festival.
